Should ADUs be Sold Separately?
-
Increase “gentle density” within single-family zoned neighborhoods while maintaining character.
-
Open up a reservoir of reasonably priced homes, given our current median home price is hovering around $1,000,000.
-
Provide a new source of retirement funds for elderly homeowners that want to stay in their existing home, but can no longer afford to.
-
Allows homeowners that do not want to be a landlord to simply sell their ADU.
Would you support ADUs being sold separately as condos?

The Antelline House is one of the grandest mid-century modern homes in all of San Diego County! Taking cues from Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin West as well as from architects Cliff May and John Lautner, the Antelline House engages views of the landscape and skyward as glass walls blur the line between indoor and outdoor spaces. Images of the home by world-renowned architectural photographer Julius Shulman have been published internationally. This is a fixer that could be completely stunning!
