Chew on this – A List of the Best Restaurants in San Diego

I always look forward to the May edition of the San Diego Magazine, where I get to plan out what new restaurants I’m trying for the next 6 months! For those of who don’t subscribe to the magazine, I wanted to share what’s trending in our local food scene! trust attorney if you have specific questions!

I still need to try Wolf in the Woods, Marisi, Aldea, and Atelier Manna, and based on this list, I’m going to try Animae again. Enjoy your food, enjoy your life!

Featured Listing of the Week

The Collins-Wellington Estate, an architectural gem in San Diego, presents a Spanish-Revival Castle built in 1928 by H.A. Collins. Nestled atop an 8-acre private hill, this estate offers a rare combination of seclusion, grandeur, and historical significance, listed on the Historic Register and benefiting from property tax savings under the Mills Act. This 5,766 square foot mansion features intricate old-world craftsmanship, including high beam ceilings, inlaid onyx floors, hand-painted ceiling designs, and oak flooring with peg and bowtie detailing. The design boasts genuine Spanish Castle motifs, with repeating arches and wrought iron details that harmonize throughout the estate. How unique and stunning!

Locked Out - The Struggle of CA Homeowners to Secure Insurance

Currently, seven of the 12 biggest-name insurance companies have announced they will limit or stop renewing or writing new insurance policies in the state. Insurers are pointing to wildfires, rising home construction costs, and regulations that make it difficult to cover their costs.

If you receive a non-renewal notice from your insurer, you should contact your insurance agent right away. In California, insurers must give a minimum 75 days notice before a policy expires. You can ask if there are improvements you can make to qualify the home for renewal.

If they say no, there are more than 100 insurers still writing policies in the state. Additionally, you can use the California FAIR Plan, which is a state-run insurance policy, as a last resort. I have a client using this option now, and they will be able to shop again in six months.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’ll connect you with an insurance professional.
