Congratulations to the Padres on the New Gallagher Square!
To mark the opening of the 2024 baseball season and the 20th anniversary of Petco Park, the San Diego Padres unveiled the new Gallagher Square park last week! On Opening Day, I received a tour, and it looks amazing!
The renovated 2.7-acre park includes a wonderful tribute to the late Padres slugger Tony Gwynn with a raised, 6,000-square foot viewing deck named in his honor that has new food and beverage concessions and a new video board. There is also a large, new playground that hosts the world's tallest climbable baseball bat that is more than 35 feet, as well as an enhanced t-ball field. For our furry friends, the Padres built a new, 2,000 sf dog park. Even more exciting for me, there are four new pickleball courts for residents to enjoy!
A special congratulations to my friend, Diana Puetz, who was integral in getting the project approved and across the finish line for the Padres. I hope you all go to a baseball game this year and see this new and improved park for yourself! I’m always up for a game if you need someone to go with:)

Downtown 40-story Apartment Project Will Now Be Condos
Given the lack of supply of condos for sale in Downtown San Diego, Bosa Development is changing course on an apartment complex being built in Cortez Hill after nearly two years into its construction. The building will now become 389 condos, as the company believes condos would deliver a better return on investment.
The new condo tower will be bounded by B Street, Eighth Avenue, C Street and Ninth Avenue. Bosa Development will also build a $23 million park on a portion of the site. As more information becomes available, I’ll let you know!
